Roof Systems Information:

ASPHALT and COAL TAR PITCH ROOF SYSTEMS:

Asphalt and Coal Tar Roof Systems, are composed of fiberglass or wood-fiber pulp (rag) membranes; adhered together with either hot asphalt or cold asphalt adhesives. surface finishes have been normally aggregate (rock), granulated surfaces (synthetic colored aggregate), top-mopped (hot asphalt-applied at low temperature) and or coated (various roof coating) - depending on the slope of the roof. Combinations of these applications, incorporated together create a roof membrane, which is known as a Built-Up Roof System (BUR). Built-Up Roof Systems have been applied for hundreds of years.
   Modified Membranes (BUR'S) :

Modified System are composed of fiberglass membranes and are applied with hot asphalt, cold adhesives, or torches - they are extremely durable roof membranes, membranes can with stand a great deal of foot traffic and abuse from other sources. These roof membranes can be installed with multiple layers, and some granulated surfaces or smooth which ever surface is required of the specifications. They (the membranes) are very compatible with roof coatings.


     Single Ply Membranes:
  

TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) and PVC (Poly-Vinyl Chloride) Roof Membranes are available in 45 Mil, 60 Mil; these membranes are light weight and reflect the sunlight. Normal color is white, but they available in other various colors. The membrane can mechanically attached or fully adhered over insulation and other approved substrates.
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolmer) Membranes are manufactured and available in either Reinforced or Non-reinforced 45 Mil, and 60 Mil. EPDM Roof Membranes can mechanically attached, ballasted, and or fully adhered.   
ROOF COATINGS:
Roof coating have always been an important part of the roofing industry, more so in economy when monies are tight. Today coatings improve energy savings, prevent costly roof maintenance and extend the service life of the existing roof system. Lack of planning for roof maintenance, sometimes brings us face to face with the realty of high cost of re-roofing. Coating is an alternative to high re-roofing projects, when planned ahead.
